What I work on
Flexibility of equipment and energy sources
I work with decision-support concepts that help compare complex energy-system configurations: grid supply, PV/FVE, wind, CHP, BESS, operational load levels and carbon / resilience indicators. The aim is to create space for better optimisation before costly detailed design begins.
BESS as part of the energy chain
Within the FlexRICAN logic, BESS is not treated as an energy generator. It shifts energy in time and can support resilience, backup duration, renewable integration, load smoothing and future flexibility services. It must be interpreted together with UPS, power-quality measures, local generation and facility operating states.
Toola developer project
The Toola web-based developer project creates a structured pre-feasibility environment for complex energy systems. It lets users compare strategic scenarios and expose assumptions before supplier design, hourly dispatch modelling, protection studies or investment-grade assessment. This makes it useful for early decisions on BESS, facility resilience and energy-chain optimisation in demanding research and industry-like operations.
Advanced operational themes
Relevant themes include battery storage, predictive maintenance, machine learning support, data centres, clean operations and BMS/asset data integration where stability, energy performance and operational continuity must be considered together.
